The AMT320/W range is a series of customisable systems designed specifically for the automatic testing of electric motors in production environments. Each solution is custom-developed according to customer specifications to ensure maximum reliability in end-of-line testing, even in high-volume settings or where there are special integration requirements on automatic lines.

A variety of configurations are available, ranging from manually loaded solutions, which are ideal for low-volume production or special batches, to systems with partial or full automation, which are designed for high-throughput industrial environments.

DESCRIPTION

The types of tests that can be performed depend on the construction technology, size and final application of the motor. Each system can include electrical and functional tests to ensure comprehensive and reliable final testing.

For R&D and laboratory applications, Marposs E.D.C. offers the dedicated ATC320/W version, which is designed to support the characterisation, validation, and prototyping of electric motors. Each system is developed according to the customer's specific needs.

The test system can be configured with several major components, including:

  • an AMT320/W computerised control unit, which is responsible for complete testing process management;
  • an Active or Passive Brake, which is necessary for performing load tests;
  • the Power Supply Unit (PSU320) integrates the power distribution unit (PDU) and the DC power supply for the inverter of the motor under test and the active brake. The DC power supply can power the device under test (DUT) and regenerate braking energy directly to the grid.

The AMT320/W is an extremely versatile system designed for testing a wide variety of electric motors. It supports single-phase and three-phase AC motors, DC motors (including windscreen wiper motors), brushless motors, geared motors, swing and sliding gate motors, shutter and blind motors, and specialised motors such as synchronous reluctance motors.

Marposs E.D.C. can also supply customised systems for testing multiple types of motor within the same facility. These solutions are ideal for companies that produce small volumes of motors and require a flexible, reconfigurable system that can adapt to a diverse range of products.

The AMT320/W is designed to offer flexible configurations to suit specific customer needs. Configurations can vary according to the following:

  • Motor power: systems for motors up to 20 kW (with an integrated power supply) or up to 1 MW (with an external power supply). 
  • Use: It is designed for integration into fully automated lines or as a standalone operator test bench.
  • Test bench structure: we offer a wide range of modular solutions, from single test benches to complex systems capable of handling two or more stations. These can be custom-designed for specific types of motors or applications. Configurations can include three-station rotary tables, safety light curtains and ergonomically and functionally optimised layouts that comply with industrial safety standards.
  • Integration on automatic lines: in addition to stand-alone or semi-automated use, we can also provide fully automated test stations or islands designed for direct insertion into new or existing production lines. These solutions ensure high productivity, reliability, and business continuity in the most demanding industrial settings.
  • AMT320/WF - Complete Fan Testing System: is a complete fan testing system designed for high-cadence production environments. It enables comprehensive electrical and functional testing, including speed measurement, direction of rotation control, and vibration analysis. The system can be integrated into automated production lines or supplied as a standalone station.
  • AMT320/WP - End-of-Line Test System for Pumps: is an automatic system for testing pumps in a production environment. It can be configured for integration into automated production lines or for manual operation. As well as carrying out electrical tests on the motor, it allows the measurement and verification of important parameters such as flow rate, pressure, head, capacity, speed (RPM), torque and direction of rotation.
