Optical fibers accessories for chromatic confocal set-up
E50 SERIES
E50 series is part of the STIL ChromaPoint detectors.
All the optical fibers are passive components, graduated index silica fibers with a 50µm core, an E2000/APC connector for the connection with STIL controller and an FC/APC connector for the connection with STIL optical sensor head.
E50 Fiber Optics are composed of different models that can be used in an adaptable way in laboratories or in industrial installations with a specific protection.
Three types of protection are available:
- Standard fiber: with plastic protection.
The best solution for most applications. - Metal-clad fiber: standard fiber with additional metal protection.
The best solution for harsh environments. - Armored fiber: the metal armor consists of a spiral steel tape used to house and protect the fibers, located between the silica fiber and the plastic shield.
Armored fibers, compared to metal-clad optical fibers, have a smaller diameter and maintain maximum core protection, with high stress and pressure resistance. Armored fibers remain weaker than metal-clad versions in the event of excessive bending.
