DESCRIPTION
Like the non-destructive checks used to test the structure of the material, the surface hardness can be measured automatically with applications that comply with the international standards according to the Rockwell A or C scale.
Marposs has developed a durometer to check the surface hardness of parts with a cylindrical geometry refereed to two centres, such as crankshafts, camshafts, transmission shafts, hubs, etc.
All surfaces parallel to the axis of the part can be measured, such as crank pins, connecting rods, cams, bearing seating’s, etc.
The solutions developed are ideal for use in final controls (ground surfaces) or inter-operational checks (multi-faceted surfaces after tempering) to check the heat treatment.
