Position:

Project Engineer

Location: Auburn Hills, MI - United States

Experience: 5-7 years experience

The Project Engineer will coordinate activities for specific product lines from the order entry stage through equipment installation with significant interaction with customers, suppliers, and internal personnel.

Responsibilities:

  • Review specifications for project, and coordinate activities throughout the life cycle through installation
  • Prepare, schedule, coordinate, and monitor the assigned projects
  • Provide assistance and technical support to external and internal team members throughout the project life cycle
  • Contact vendors, customers, engineering team, and manufacturing departments to develop project requirements and gather technical information and specifications
  • Minimize project risk by maintaining close contact with customers throughout the project
  • Collect measurables and produce progress reports during the project
  • Identify and document all business, technical, product and process requirements
  • Estimates production time and related costs on old and new projects

Requirements:

  • BSME/BSEE or equivalent business or technical knowledge
  • An understanding of gauging theory and application skills, GD&T concepts, and a strong mechanical background are required
  • Previous experience with attribute and variable gauges and fixture is required
  • 5 to 7 years’ experience in the metal working or gauging industry is required
  • Must be able to work independently; possesses strong interpersonal and organizational skill
  • Working knowledge in Microsoft Office and AUTOCAD
  • Previous project management experience is required
  • Good math skills
  • Excellent communication and written skills
