Test Lab Technician

Responsibilities

The candidate will be responsible for conducting experimental tests based on requests from the commercial area or generated internally. Each request refers to new, non‑standard activities that require strong analytical skills and the ability to independently design solutions.

Specifically, the role will involve:

  • understanding the objectives and type of the required test;
  • designing the experimental setup, defining instrumentation, materials, software, and operating procedures;
  • executing the tests and collecting data;
  • organizing, analyzing, and interpreting the results;
  • repeating and modifying the tests, when necessary, to further investigate or validate the outcomes;
  • effectively communicating test results to the relevant internal company teams.

The role will also include supporting prototype tuning and development activities.

To perform effectively, the candidate will need to interact with the entire area in which they are placed and collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders, including:

  • other company departments;
  • Group companies;
  • suppliers;
  • academic institutions, both in Italy and abroad.

A solid knowledge of and hands-on ability with available equipment (mechanical components, measurement systems, and software tools) is essential, along with awareness of solutions adopted by competitors.

The candidate will also be expected to propose new equipment and stay continuously up to date on the most advanced technologies relevant to our business.

Requirements

The ideal candidate holds a degree in a STEM/Computer Science field, preferably in Physics. Candidates with a degree in Engineering or Mathematics are also suitable, provided they are oriented toward practical applications.

The role requires familiarity with (or an interest in developing skills in) the following areas:

  • mechanics;
  • motion control and motion systems;
  • robotics;
  • metrology;
  • signal analysis;
  • data analysis;
  • software.

A solid scientific background combined with a strong aptitude for technical and scientific applications is highly valued, possibly supported by personal or hobby‑level experience.
