The evolution of the machining methods for high precision components, makes today possible the production of matched parts of extremely small dimensions. The measuring strategies, which are closely connected with the manufacturing process in this range, must guarantee the possibility to inspect, with sub-micron performances, inner and outer diameters which are below one millimeter.
M39S Scanning System, employed with Air-to-Electronic "Single Lip" technology, allows to measure in scanning mode the smallest inner and outer diameters and to verify the clearance along the total extension of the matching surfaces. In the case in object, it is proposed an application for the inspection of clearance between a bore and a shaft having a diameter of only 0.8 mm. The use of A/E technology with no contact between the measuring unit and the part guarantees the best performances and a high reliability of the equipment.
