System/Network/Cloud Engineer
Responsibilities
The candidate will join the IT department of the headquarters and will be part of the IT Operations team; they will be involved in the implementation, management and support of the entire IT infrastructure of the MARPOSS Group companies, working alongside IT teams worldwide, and will be responsible for developing and managing the lifecycle of all types of systems and technologies (legacy, traditional and cloud-native).
Profile
The ideal candidate, with solid experience of complex corporate networks that span a global context and interconnect multiple organisations, will possess a combination of the following qualities:
- A passion for information technology (hardware, software, operating systems, hypervisors, physical and virtual networks, on-premises and cloud configurations)
- Basic knowledge of scripting, automation, programming, databases, virtualisation and information security
- Experience in managing Linux and Windows systems via the command line
- Experience in managing switches, routers, firewalls, wireless networks and directories
- Familiarity with IT and OT network protocols
- Experience with storage and backup devices and software (physical, virtual and cloud-based)
- Experience in managing telephone switchboards and telecommunications systems, including wired, DECT and mobile networks and related devices
- Experience with cloud-native technologies and their lifecycle (e.g. integrations and deployment)
- Willingness to learn about and contribute on the operational, architectural and governance aspects of IT Service Management
- Willingness to undertake occasional short-term travel
- Inclination to maintaining service levels, analysing complex systems and troubleshooting
- Strong teamwork and problem-solving skills
Possession of official certifications (e.g. Cisco, Windows, EntraID, ITIL, PMP) will be viewed favourably.
