3D Measurement and Inspection

Flexible Gauging for EV Rotors
Optoquick is the Marposs solution for high precision gauging controls of shafts in the EV manufacturing. The integration of optical and contact sensors enables extensive quality controls during production operations.
Image formation is executed through shadow casting in order to achieve high metrological performance, removing any variability due to part color or surface finishing. Contact sensors can be integrated as options in the system in order to enable the measurement of features not visible in shadow casting mode, as for instance key slots or dimensional characteristics of external splines, typically present in Rotor Shafts.
Dimensional Gaging for Hairpin
The Hairpinflash is a non-contact measurement system developed for the geometric measurement of Hairpins, which are the main constituents of high-performance electric motors used in electric vehicles. The noncontact measurement solution is necessary because of the inherent fragility of the part, which is easily deformed as a result of handling.
Shadow projection image acquisition is used in order to perform the measurements.
The part is placed, unconstrained, on a flat reference of tempered glass below which illuminators (green light) are housed. Three matrix cameras equipped with telecentric optics acquire the images needed to perform the main measurements of the Hairpin geometry.
In Line Contactless Gauging of the Magnet Wire
The Dual Axis Laser Micrometers are ideal for the in-line 100% monitoring of diameter and ovality of round wires and the control of the 2 dimensions of rectangular cross section.
For round sections the sensors, using the Blistbuster special feature, can be very useful to check the diameter consistency of magnet wire and to detect recurrent flaws, commonly called “Blisters”. In this way the sensor will give some “process indicators” related to the wire quality.
Special Contact Gauging of Rotor Components
Customized stations based on contact-electronic technology represent the most reliable solution for post-process gauging applications on rotor-shafts, sheet metal stack and complete rotor assembly. Robust, fast and less sensitive to dirt, this technology allows the integration of dimensional control into the production line, immediately after machining, with possible feedback to the machine.
Stator Dimensional Gauging and Inspection
Special gauging machines can be proposed for high precision measurement of several geometrical parameters, such as diameters, ovality and concentricity of the cooling jacket after its assembly to the stator. Integration of vision systems and eddy current sensors can be used for complete inspection of defects on the sealing surfaces.
