NON-CONTACT TOOL BREAKAGE DETECTION SYSTEM

Mechanical parts mass production usually implies very short machining time. Therefore tool check, useful to guarantee high quality products and few waste parts, must be accomplished in few seconds.

In most of these cases we renounce to check the tool wear but we cannot avoid checking tool breakage that, if not performed, will impair the machining of mechanical parts hence causing waste.

TBD allow, in less than a second, breakage detection on solid body concentric tools as: drills, tapping tools, end milling cutters and ball nose cutters.
