MIDA ORI AT IMTS 2008

Marposs Corp. will introduce its new, ultra-compact "ORI" optical receiver for use with Mida probes at IMTS 2008 in booth D-4514, September 8-13, in Chicago's McCormick Place.
The new ORI receiver with integrated interface is packaged in an extremely compact unit that is suitable for installation on small machines by mounting it into the machine panel. The ORI optical receiver may also be mounted into the spindle head on machining centers and milling machines, thus enabling measurement on 5-axis milling machines. The wide angle receiving characteristic of the new ORI system helps to ensure successful optical transmission between the spindle probe's transmitter and the ORI receiver.
The ORI optical receiver can manage two probes and may be used with both Mida OTS30 tool setting probes as well as E83WA optical transmission part inspection spindle probes in the same machine.
A miniaturized air blow system provides cleaning of the receiver's glass cover, eliminating contamination from coolant and chips. LED's on the ORI unit's mini panel signal important information such as battery low, error and touch messages.
Other new products to be presented by Marposs at IMTS include the Merlin Mobile, a unique, wrist-band mounted electronic gauge computer; M3 Star ultra slim, manual snap gauge line; and several new products in the company's Mida probing line, including WRS world radio transmission probing system; OGP70 optical, high precision spindle probe; Optical Twin Probe interface unit; Mida Laser 75P programmable non-contact tool setting system; and an improved line of Mida Arms for tool setting and breakage detection on lathes.
