CS26
SPINDLE GROWTH MONITORING
The CS26 is a compact, reliable device for monitoring spindle growth.
Machine tool spindle dimensions, in particular axial dimensions, vary with changes in temperature generated during rotation due to the effects of friction. The dimension along the Z axis and therefore, that of the Z tool measurement, changes.
In high precision machining, typical of the mould and die sector and the aerospace sector (turbine blades), the error caused by such variations in spindle geometry is unacceptable.
The CS26 system uses contactless sensors to measure axial elongation relative to an initial zero and can supply this measurement to the machine CNC to allow real time measurement correction. Measurement is based on eddy current sensors.
