The material properties test can be divided in two large groups. The tests known as "thermal treatment check" are used to check whether the thermal cycles (tempering, hardening and tempering, annealing, etc.) have been performed correctly. The "material identification checks" are used to sort parts with the same geometry but made with different materials.
The treatment check and the material identification check can be performed in static in addition to through mode, by making the part pass inside the sensor. This allows the check, and therefore the productivity of the application, to be sped up.
In modern production systems it’s essential to perform non-destructive checks. This is done, not only because the quality standards are increasingly stringent, but failure of a mechanical component can compromise the safety of the user.
Eddy current technology offers a faster test speed when compared other technologies and therefore, it allows 100% of the inspection, for production, to be automatic. Turnkey applications are supplied only for the non-destructive tests and for the integrated dimensional + ND tests.
Probes and electronic units can be supplied as components for the customer to create applications or to integrate new controls on existing applications.
Marposs is available to check the feasibility of the control, by performing controls on sample parts provided by the customer.
