· Energy Industry -- Solar Energy

Marposs can provide applications for dimensional and geometric inspection of parabolic-trough components in Concentrating Solar Power (CSP) systems.

· Energy Industry -- Solar Energy
DESCRIPTION

Concentrating Solar Power (CSP) technologies use concentrators (mirrors or lenses) to focus a large area of sunlight onto a small area (receiver) to produce heat or electricity. Among CSP technologies, the parabolic-trough (PT) one is one of the most widespread.

PT collectors are composed by a reflecting surface, curved along only one dimension as a parabola, and a receiver tube, placed in its linear focus, as a whole, reflector and receiver can rotate around an axis parallel to the focus line to allow tracking the sun. A typical PT plant consists of a number of loops, each one several hundreds of meters long, and composed by a sequence of modules; therefore the module can be considered as the constructional element of PT collectors. Each module is composed by different mirror panels.

Marposs can provide products and applications for dimensional and geometric inspection, at different manufacturing stages, of parabolic-trough components.

SOLUTION

Some examples of Marposs Applications for Solar Energy

  • VISfield, to verify the mutual optical alignment between receiver tube and parabolic trough reflector for modules
  • VISprofile, for the shape measurement of parabolic-trough facets in laboratory/industry
  • VISshed, to check the mutual optical alignment between receiver tube and parabolic trough reflector before the installation in the field
