The main responsibility of this position is to provide support for direct sales, distributors, OEM’s and end users in the quotation, application design, installation and launch of machine tool probing and monitoring products/systems.
Analyzes customer’s needs and specifications and prepares quotations for CNC machine tool touch probe and monitoring systems
Provides technical support in person, by phone and/or email to key distributors, company employees (worldwide) and end users
Provides technical support to Sales Engineers
Reports in writing all customer visit trip information and results
Follows up on all projects in a timely manner
Follows-up during the launch of new products for installation, software and troubleshooting with Marposs SpA as liaison to resolve issues.
Troubleshoots customer problems by phone, if necessary travels to customer job site with service personnel to resolve the issue
Performs other duties as assigned.
Directs and oversee suppliers
Prepares application designs
Trains company personnel and distributors on Marposs Machine Tool applications
Attends trade exhibitions and distributor open houses
Write software manuals, installation procedures and prepares sales technical data to sales and service personnel
Tests and evaluates software for probes;
Updates yearly price book for Marposs Machine Tool Products;
Support Sales, Proposal, Order Processing, Final Check, Repair, Service and Training
Performs Customer Presentations
May support OEM customers and distributors;
Plans, designs and coordinates integration of CNC machine tool probe and monitoring systems into the manufacturing process
Qualifications: The successful candidate will have a four year degree in Electrical Engineering. Previous experience with CNC programming, PLC and schematics with respect to CNC and Machine Tool Industry preferred. A good driving record is essential. Travels approximately 40% to 50% of the time. This individual should be self-motivated and able to accomplish tasks with little supervision.
