The machine provides two vacuum chambers with automatic opening and closing lid, housed on a support frame made by welded steel and covered by removable panels. Behind the chamber is placed the vacuum pumping system, housed on a support frame inside a soundproofed and ventilated cabin. The cabinets, containing the electric switchboard and the leak detector, are placed on the right side of the machine, while the cabinets containing the pneumatic valves are placed on the front side, below the chambers. Both the vacuum pumping system and the leak detector are shared between the chambers: while one chamber is open for the loading/unloading, the other one is making the test and conversely. The machine is designed to be automatically loaded/unloaded by an automatic system (pick-and-place or robot). The HMI is made by a 15” touch-screen colour monitor, fixed to a swivel arm, and a remote control box with the push-buttons and light signals for the operator. The equipment provides separate outlet ports for helium and air discharge and it is designed to be connected to a helium recovery system. A sniffer with 5 m tube is provided to carry out a manual leak search (at low pressure).
