Field Service Engineer provides field service support to customers and participate in the installation, maintenance and troubleshooting skills at customer sites. In addition, the Field Service Engineer will provide product/technical training to our customers and verify the operational performance of the Artis systems in order to contribute to our overall team success.
Positively influences customer satisfaction through the installation, support and conduct training on site of the Artis products.
Uses enhanced troubleshooting skills to resolve customer issues.
Works according to Service Manager schedule and must be available to be on-call and respond to customer emergencies.
Stays current on technical knowledge through participation on training programs, reading technical bulletins from Marposs database.
Provide timely, detailed and accurate reports on service work performed and expenses.
Field Service Engineer must have the availability to work evening and weekend hours.
Frequent U.S. travel will be required by automobile and possibly by air plane to support customers in North America.
Bachelor's degree in engineering (electrical, mechanical) from an accredited institution or Associates' degree in engineering (electrical, mechanical); plus 1- 3 years' service experience in an industrial environment.
Must be able to read engineering drawings (electrical and mechanical).
Experience in PLC programming; Fanuc ladder and Siemens STL helpful, but not required.
Hands-on experience in Industrial Communication Protocols; Profibus, Ethernet and
DeviceNet helpful, but not required.
Process knowledge; experience in machining processes in the automotive industry and metal-cutting in general is very beneficial; but not required.
Standard computer skills including IBM Lotus Notes, Word and Excel.
