Position:

Accountant

Location: Auburn Hills, MI - United States

Experience: 6-10 years experience

The accountant will assist with the day-to-day activities of the accounting department, in addition to monthly and year-end closing.

Marposs designs and manufactures a wide range of products and solutions from; precision measurement of mechanical components of before, during and after the manufacturing process, process controls and machine tool conditions, leak tests for all industrial sectors, and automatic assembly and control lines. Marposs is a primary supplier of the major automotive manufacturers, for both ICE and EV applications, as well as the aerospace, biomedical, energy, consumer electronics and glass containers sectors.

 

Responsibilities Summary:

Accounting & Finance

  • Communicate with Global Financial Team for transferring of data
  • Compile Monthly Financial Statements for Canada and USA
  • Deal with Quarterly planning activities and reports using Hyperion
  • Treasury Forecasting
  • Support a strong customer collection program and strategy
  • Aide in the continuous improvement in our accounting policies and procedures
  • Support the AP/AR team with their accounting and cash needs
  • Avoid legal challenges by understanding current and proposed legislation, enforcing accounting regulations, and recommending new procedures
  • Guide other departments in interpreting accounting policies and applying observations and recommendations to operational issues
  • Accomplishes accounting and organization missions by completing related results as needed

Banking

  • Monthly collateral reporting
  • Quarterly GAAP Statements for Bank
  • Assist with Banking activities, including initiating and approving ACH/wire transfers

Audits

  • Be a part of the external audits at year end, including Banks

 

Skills/Requirements:

  • BS Accounting or Finance
  • 6 -10 years of experience in an accounting department
  • Excellent organizational skills, with emphasis on priorities and goal setting
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and statistical analysis software
  • Superior presentation and communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to communicate information to staff members in a clear and concise manner, while being confidential
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Must be detail oriented and have the ability to work proactively and effectively
  • Must be able to interact with all levels of personnel, both internally and within the Global Organization
  • Must be able to multitask
