TOUCH PROBES FOR TOOL CHECK

A90 family probes is the low cost solution for tool breakage detection and inspection, when there is no need to measure the tool with very high accuracy.
There are basically three models of A90 probes to meet the different application needs: 

• A90: typically used on lathes mounted on fixed or movable arms, it is available with three four or five tool contact surfaces and one or more LEDs' to visually detect the "electrical contact" between tool and probe.
  As option it is also available with air blow nozzle to remove chips from the contact surface.

• A90R: this version is characterized by four contacts that are mounted on a central shaft having clockwise or counterclockwise rotation, according to the model.
  In this way it is also possible the inspection of special tools whose inserts protrusion does not allow the inspection with conventional systems.

• A90M: it is designed for tool inspection on machining centres and milling machines. The large contact surface allows the measurement of the tool length for multi inserts tools like milling or cutting tools. A90M probes are available with a single or double signal to detect tool contact and maximum overtravel value. Various models are available with different contact diameter and with or without air blow conduit.

A90 Family probes are compatible with toolsensor systems mounted on several machine tools like:
