EASY BOX™

4-CHANNEL DATA ACQUISITION SYSTEM

Easy Box™ is a new line of interface boxes that allows easy and economical connection of inductive transducers and Digimatic gauges to any commercial Personal Computer via USB port (Universal Serial Bus).
Simple software running on Windows 98® operating system or higher releases makes configuration and measurement value display a quick and easy task. To further enhance your application, you can choose our Quick SPC™ for Windows® operating systems, a powerful yet easy to use measuring and quality control software suite.

AVAILABLE MODELS

• U4F to connect up to 4 TESTAR standard full-bridge transducers (LVDT), such as Red Crown™ pencil probe, M1 plug gauge for ID checking, etc.
• U4H to connect up to 4 TESTAR standard half-bridge transducers (HBT), such as Red Crown™ pencil probe, M1C plug gauge for ID checking, etc.
• U4T to connect up to 4 half-bridge transducers (HBT) compatible with amplifiers of TESA;
• U4D to connect up to 4 Digimatic gauges (such as Mitutoyo calipers, digital dial gauges, etc.) or column amplifiers equipped with Digimatic output (such as TESTAR E4N).

USB OUTPUT
The value of the 4 inputs connected to each box is transferred to the PC via USB port. The USB is a fast communication bus allowing simultaneous connection of up to 127 devices to your PC. This new type of bus is getting more and more popular on PC's since it allows connection with a true plug and play facility, of a wide range of peripheral devices such as printers, keyboards, digital cameras and general-purpose data acquisition interfaces. The Easy Box™ uses another advantage of the many possibilities offered by the USB port as it receives the necessary power supply from it. With the use of only one cable it is possible therefore to power the Easy Box™ and to transfer the digital value of the input sensors connected to the box.

APPLICATION FIELDS
The Easy Box™ is suitable for static measurement acquisition or for continuous acquisition where the operator can manually rotate the workpiece (or the gauge) to visually check dimensional variations.

EASY ACQUISITION SOFTWARE PACKAGES

• DLL driver and configuration software for Windows® operating systems, allowing to interface Easy Boxes with any Windows 98® (or higher release) compatible application program with minimum software programming skills.
• Data Acquisition package for Microsoft® Excel, an easy to operate software package to import data, program measurements and perform data collection into a convenient Microsoft® Excel spread sheet.
• Data Acquisition and SPC package for Microsoft® Excel, a complete and easy to operate software package to import data, program measurements, perform data collection and SPC analysis and reporting.

DATA TRIGGERING
The Easy Box™ continuously provides to the PC (via USB port) the values of the sensors connected to the box. Whenever a data trigger is necessary, it can be made in the following way:

• With the external signal of a footswitch connected to the Easy Box™
• With a data request from the host PC
• With the data button available on the Digimatic device (gauge data send button)

All of the above mentioned methods are always available and are dependent upon the data triggering method programmed in the application software that is being used.

MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENT
To be able to successfully interface the Easy Box™ to any commercial PC, the following minimum requirement are necessary:

• Personal computer IBM compatible with at least 1 USB port available and CD ROM player
• Windows 98® operating system or higher releases
