Millennium Automation Inc. - Fremont (CA), USA
It was January 2000 when Marposs decided to enter the Hard Disk Drive Market with the acquisition of Millennium Automation.
It was a young and agile Company located in the heart of the Silicon Valley in California deeply involved in a multitasking activity in the IT of the HDD Industry and Electronic Industry in general.
All of the main producers of HDD, from Seagate and Western Digital in the USA, Samsung in Korea, Fujitzu, Toshiba and Hitachi in Japan, became very soon deeply interested and exposed to the Marposs Technology, showing great innovations in the Metrology and Quality Control of the most critical parts of the HDD, like the Head Stack Assembly.
Quite soon in the new millennium (year 2000), Marposs acquired Millennium Automation that became, with its new product Optoflex HDD Gen4, a defacto standard for the metrology requirement of the all Industry.
The expansion of the HDD Industry in Asia, Thailand, Singapore, China to name the few, has found in Marposs a more than appropriate partner in the metrology field, due to the already large presence of Marposs Organizations in each one of the above Asian Countries.
The Service Organization of Marposs, already largely present in Japan, China, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia and Philippines, has provided to the HDD producers and relative parts suppliers of the same producers, a great sense of security and overall comfort in keeping using the Marposs/Millennium metrology products.
